Your Cabin Fever Forecast

Today could be the day...

If you are looking for a change of pace and a time to get out of your house or apartment, there will be some windows of opportunity over the next few days. However, those windows are limited and as of this writing, there is only a couple of days between today and early next week that won't be at least mostly cloudy. After some low clouds and fog today some sunshine will return and then the next longer period of more abundant sunshine won't happen until Monday.

The image above is a forecast of the cloud cover and precipitation through next Friday. The green "spikes" or bars represent the amount of rainfall for that period. Notice a red bar within the tallest green bar. That represents a chance of thunderstorms late Saturday into Sunday morning. The best chance of rain will come Saturday. The best chance of sunshine will be this afternoon and again during the Monday/Tuesday time frame. . The cloud cover forecast shows the percentage of cloud cover for low, middle and high clouds. More blue means more sunshine. While it might be wet at times this weekend it does appear more sunshine is coming next week.

Here is my 7 day forecast:

Today: Fog early then partly cloudy High: 58

Thursday: Mostly cloudy, showers possible late Low: 43 High: 48 (45 lakefront)

Friday: Cloudy, sct. showers mainly in the afternoon Low: 38 High: 48 (43 lakefront)

Saturday: Mostly cloudy, sct. showers (t-storm possible) Low: 44 High: 58 (54 lakefront)

Sunday: Shower early then becoming mostly cloudy Low: 43 High: 51

Monday: Partly to mostly sunny Low: 36 High: 54 (50 lakefront)

Tuesday: Partly to mostly sunny Low: 37 High: 52 (49 lakefront)

Next Monday appears to be the day with the best chance with abundant sunshine. We will have a wind off the lake then so it will be tough to get much above the lower 50s with 40s along the lakefront.

That means today is the day! Today will probably feature the best combination of high temps (upper 50s) and sunshine.

Hope you have the chance to get out and enjoy it.
