Tuesday Was Terrific But Sustained Warm Up On Hold

Tuesday turned out to be terrific with some sunshine and highs near 60 (officially 58 at O'Hare). We will bounce back into the 60s by Saturday but the prospect of a longer stretch of warmer than average temperatures has been put on hold for now.

The long rage, 8 to 14 day outlook has us favored for cooler than average temps overall for the first week of April. The Climate Prediction Center's forecast for all of April has us favored for above average temps overall for the entire month. So while the first week of April might be cool, here's hoping the rest of the month warms up.

The Storm Prediction center has parts of our area either in a marginal or slight risk for severe weather Saturday. The trade off for 60s on Saturday is the possibility of some stronger thunderstorms.

Rainfall could really add up between later today and Sunday evening. The GFS model is suggesting most of us could should see about an inch and a half of rain in total.

Here is my 7 day forecast:

Today: Cloudy, sct. showers mainly late High: 48

Friday: Mostly cloudy, sct. pm showers Low: 40 High: 57 (45 lakefront)

Saturday: Showers & sct. t-storms Low: 44 High: 65 (60 lakefront)

Sunday: Mostly cloudy, cooler, few showers Low: 44 High: 54

Monday: Mostly sunny Low: 38 High: 57 (50 lakefront)

Tuesday: Partly to mostly cloudy, sct. shower possible Low: 39 High: 54 (45 lakefront)

Wednesday: Partly to mostly sunny Low: 38 High: 53 (45 lakefront)
