Sunny Halloween & Nice Start To November

Terrific Trick Or Treating Weather

Nothing scary about this Halloween's weather. Plenty of sunshine today but it will be blustery with gusts over 30 mph. Average highs are near 56° for this date. Our highs today should be right around that average as we top out in the middle 50s. As I pointed out yesterday, what a difference a year makes. Halloween 2019 had trick or treaters covered in snow.

Chill In The Air Sunday

Blustery today but the strongest wind gusts will arrive Sunday. Northwest winds will gust over 40 mph at times. Those strong winds combined with colder temperatures on Sunday will make it feel like the lower to middle 20s.

Big Warm Up For First Week Of November

After seven straight days below average we will be around average today and then drop below average on Sunday. It's all uphill though after that. Highs warm into the 60s by the middle of the week and stay well above average into next weekend.

Wednesday will be the first day with highs in the 60s in a little over two weeks. Notice the southwest winds here pushing the milder air northward into the midwest. That pattern should continue into next weekend.

The GFS model has temperatures across most of the midwest about 15° to 20° above average by Friday afternoon. The only portion of the country below average is the northern Rockies and much of the west coast.

Relatively Mild Well Into Next Month

The longer range forecasts continue to keep the relatively mild air coming well into November. The 6-10 day temperature probability forecast has us outlooked for above average temperatures overall from November 5th through the November 9th. The longer range 8-14 day forecast also has outlooked for above average overall from November 7th through the 13th too.

The longer range experimental multi-ensemble model forecasts has the midwest outlooked to stay above average overall through nearly the end of November.. The forecasts for the week ending November 13th and the week ending November 20th have us favored for above temperatures.

Sunny Start To November

There is a small chance for a few spotty sprinkles or showers late this evening into early Sunday morning. That is the only chance for rain until next weekend. The first week of November should see a lot of sunshine.

The longer range forecasts hint at a pattern change that might favor more rainfall by the second week of the month. The 6-10 day forecast has us outlooked for about average or just below average precipitation from November 5th through the November 9th. The longer range 8-14 day begins to bring back more moisture with the midwest outlooked for above average precipitation from November 7th through November 13th.

Here is my 7 day forecast:
