Cooler Couple Of Days But Warm Up By Weekend
Monday was the first day with below average temperatures since June 24th. We will see a couple more days a bit below average before heat and humidity build back by the weekend. Average highs for this time of year are 83° and lows average 64°. Today's highs will be in the lower 70s. Tonight it will really feel like fall.
Throw open the windows tonight but keep a heavier blanket handy. Lows will dip into the middle to upper 50s. There could be a few 40s well west of the city.
If you like your summers warmer and more humid you won't have to wait too long. Highs will be well into the 80s by the weekend. The GFS model has highs near 90° by Sunday. Between now and then a beautiful stretch of mainly sunny days with highs warming to 80° by Thursday and lower 80s Friday.
The threat of rain remains very low until the weekend. Even then, there probably will only be an isolated shower or thunderstorm. A slightly better chance Sunday compared to Saturday. Best chance of rain comes a week from today on Tuesday afternoon and then later that following Wednesday into Thursday.
Once the heat and humidity come back it might stick around at least through the middle of August. The 6-10 day and 8-14 day temperature probability forecast has us outlooked overall for temperatures above average from August 9th through August 17th.
