Cool Couple Of Days Then Warm Up Next Week
For four months and a row temperatures have been above average and in some cases WELL above average (December & January). Then came April. 12 out of 23 days have been below average and for the month so far we are running -.2° below. Barely below average but it stands out after four straight milder than average months. 63° is the average high for late April. We will fall shy of that today with a breeze off the lake limiting us to lower 50s at best and middle 40s at worst right along the lakefront.
Lake Michigan's water temperatures in the southern part of the lake are in the lower to middle 40s. 4 of the next 7 days a wind off the lake will keep us cooler than average.
There is hope for a small warm up next week with temperatures climbing back up to about average and above on at least one day. We can look forward to some 60s next week but a bigger warm up could hit a week from this Saturday. Some sun and the lack of a wind off the lake could push highs into the 70s. Indications are May will start off mild.
There will be some April showers to close out the month but there are some dry slots over the next 7 days to enjoy too. Best chance of rain is late today and then during the day Saturday. Best windows of weather will be most of Sunday and Monday and then Thursday and Friday next week.
