80s Today Then Cooler Air Coming

May started off cool but our recent streak of summer-like weather has nearly wiped away the cooler than average temperature deficit. After four days in a row with a high of 80° or warmer the average temperature so far this month is a measly .1° below average. 80s today will lengthen the streak to 5 days in a row, something we haven't seen since last August.

A cold front will come through late Thursday and set us up for a cooler weekend by comparison. The forecast temperatures from the GFS model for Friday afternoon show highs in the upper 60s to near 70°.

There will be some periods of at least scattered showers and thunderstorms today & tomorrow but there will not be any all day washouts. Models dry us back out for Friday, the weekend and through Monday next week.

Warmer than average temperatures will probably return by the middle of next week and could stick around once again. Both the 6 to 10 day and 8 to 14 day temperature probability forecast has us outlooked for above average temperatures overall for the start of June (June 1st through the 9th).

Here is my 7 day forecast:

Today: Partly to mostly cloudy, sct. shwrs/t-storms High: 82 (77 Lakefront)

Thursday: Mostly cloudy, on/off showers/t-storms Low: 66 High: 78

Friday: Partly to mostly sunny Low: 58 High: 71 (65 Lakefront)

Saturday: Mostly sunny Low: 51 High: 68 ( 58 Lakefront)

Sunday: Mostly sunny Low: 52 High: 71 (59 Lakefront)

Monday: Partly to mostly sunny Low: 52 High: 73

Tuesday: Partly to mostly sunny Low: 62 High: 81
